Composition and content (2)

dee ngu waThe name Tacca chantrieri is a candidate for (unverified) unverified

Scope: Name-level match only: the HRDI knowledge page lists ดีงูหว้า as a northern Thai variant name for ดีงูหล้า = Tacca chantrieri.

Note: Do not treat this as an identification. The HRDI page covers Thailand generally and gives no Lisu-language name, so the herb called ดีงูหว้า in a Lisu Tom Khom preparation could refer to a different plant. The identification rules and local-confirmation task are recorded in tomkhom-research-dossier.md.

Context: The HRDI page lists ดีงูหล้า and ดีงูหว้า as northern Thai names for Tacca chantrieri Andr. (family Taccaceae), alongside separate central and southern Thai names.
Limitations: Name-level match only. This page does not mention the Lisu, Tom Khom, or the Thai health-media record; the same vernacular name could denote different taxa in different communities.

Limitations: Name-level database entry; no voucher specimen or community-specific attestation tying it to the Lisu Tom Khom recipe context.

How processing and cooking change it (1)

dee ngu wa is traditionally paired with Larb (ลาบ)contextual

Scope: Community knowledge page for a highland community (ชุมชนปางมะโอ), Northern Thailand

'ดอกออกช่วงเดือนสิงหาคม-ตุลาคม ชาวบ้านนิยมนำดอกและใบอ่อนมาย่างไฟหรือลวกกินกับน้ำพริกและลาบ' (Flowers appear Aug-Oct; villagers commonly grill or blanch the flowers and young leaves to eat with chili paste and larb).
Limitations: This finding (the larb pairing) was not extracted in the wave-1 evidence row for this source, which covered only the name-match; this row re-reads the same already-registered source for additional content and does not duplicate a source row.
