Storage of beer in brown glass bottles revealed a strong depletion of the trans-configured iso-α-acid isomers in a highly specific manner, whereas the corresponding cis-iso-α-acids seemed to be hardly affected.
限界: Abstract-level extraction. Storage duration, temperature and the number of beers are not stated in the abstract. The finding is packaging-conditional; see the paired limits row.

The abstract states that although trans-iso-α-acids exclusively, not the cis-iso-α-acids, were found to be degraded upon storage of beer, the key transformation products formed exclusively from the trans isomers were not previously known; the study then identifies them.
限界: Abstract-level extraction. The 'exclusively' wording is a summary of the prior literature as the authors state it, not a packaging-resolved measurement in this paper. Storage conditions and beer count are not given in the abstract.

限定: In the same paper, storage of beer in polyethylene terephthalate bottles, which are known to be permeable to oxygen, induced a drastic degradation of both isomers independent of their cis/trans configuration. Correspondingly, model oxidation of cis- and trans-isohumulone generated both cis- and trans-configured hydroperoxy-alloisohumulone and the matching hydroxy-alloisohumulones independent of configuration.
限界: Bounds the cis/trans selectivity to low-oxygen packaging rather than refuting it. The abstract does not quantify the degradation in either package, and does not state how the PET and brown glass beers were matched.
